Project Details:
Frontera Construction was chosen by a sealed, competitive bid process to build the new technical Campus for the Southwest Texas Junior College in Eagle Pass, Texas. The 10.27 acre campus consists of 3 instructional buildings and a large asphalt parking area. The buildings consist of the Main Classroom Building, which is 9000sf, a Welding Shop, which is 2531sf, and a Diesel Mechanic Shop, which is 4472sf. The buildings were each pre-engineered metal buildings with metal wall panels and roofs, and metal wall framing. The finishes include VCT and ceramic tile floors, hollow metal door frames, stained wood doors, suspended ceilings, and laminate cabinets and countertops. The welding shop is outfitted with 19 welding booths, 4 welding/cutting tables, overhead doors, restrooms, and a ducted exhaust fume extraction system. The diesel mechanic shop is also outfitted with a flexible ducted exhaust fume system, a large, single mast crane, overhead doors, a classroom, offices, and restrooms.
