Project Details:

Frontera Construction was selected by private contract to complete a last-minute tenant finish out of an existing space that had been mishandled by another General Contractor. The two suites are a surgical center and recovery center for day surgery patients. The project is within a 11-story facility in the Medical Center are of San Antonio. The total square footage is 3,560. The work required the installation of a 30-ton chiller system with HEPA filtered air to the surgery rooms. It has a large amount of medical gas that had to be installed in the existing facility along with a complete duplicate power system run by a backup generator. The facility had to pass a rigid Texas Department of Health inspection while being opened under a restricted time frame. The electrical system and HVAC system were all new, while also remodeling the floor and wall finishes and replacing the doors and ceiling system.
